Pre-authenticated logins

Feedback

If your company uses a single sign-on solution with which you can log in to any of the apps authorized by your company, you can use the same procedure to use Vymo also. When pre-authenticated login is enabled in Vymo, you no longer need to enter your user credentials in the Vymo app to log in to the app. The principle of single sign-on (SSO) is used to implement this feature.

How does it work

  1. Your company issues a session token to Vymo.
  2. Vymo uses that token to call the company's API.
  3. The API validates the token.
  4. If the token is valid, Vymo sees whether that you have a Vymo account. If you do, you are logged in to Vymo automatically.

How is it different from OAuth 2.0

In OAuth, you have to explicitly give authorization to the Vymo app. In pre-authenticated login, you don't need to do anything; the logins happen automatically.

Using pre-authenticated login

After your company implements pre-authenticated logins, this is what happens:

  • If you're already logged in to your company, and you open the Vymo app through your company's app, you are automatically logged in to Vymo.
  • If you log out of your company, your session in Vymo, if opened through your company's app, also comes to an end.
  • If you log out of the Vymo app, but not your company, you can log back to Vymo by opening the Vymo app again.
