How to Create Dropdown Fields Using Saved Lists

Creating dropdown fields with predefined options ensures consistency and control in Vymo. This guide details how to use a saved list for restricting dropdown field options.

Creating the Saved List

  1. Log in to the Vymo web app.
  2. Navigate to "Self Serve."
  3. Select "Global Settings" from the "Menu."
  4. Choose "Saved Dropdowns."
  5. Click “Add" above the search box in the “Saved Dropdowns” section.
  6. Provide a name for your list. The code for the list will be auto-generated.
  7. Define the options for your list.
  8. After inputting all desired options, click "Save" and then release the changes.

Applying the Saved List to a Dropdown Field

  1. Log in to the Vymo web app.
  2. Navigate to "Self Serve."
  3. Inside "Module Settings," select the module where you want to use the field list.
  4. Proceed to "Field Configuration."
  5. Navigate to the state where you want the saved list applied.
  6. Drag a dropdown-type field from the left panel to the center.
  7. In the "Field Level Settings" section, select the saved list you previously created.
  8. To finalize the changes, click "Save" at the top right corner, and then release the changes.

By following these steps, you can effectively create dropdown fields in Vymo that are limited to specific, predefined values, ensuring consistency in data entry and control over user selections.
