Work offline
You can continue working if your device has gone offline because of poor connectivity. In such cases, the app stores the data offline and uploads it to the servers when connectivity is restored. The edits and updates you make to records are stored as pending unsynced items. This number is displayed at the very top of your Vymo app.
All offline data is always encrypted. Also, if you log out of the app, all offline data is erased.
After you log in, the data is downloaded and stored in the app, and you can continue working. The Search function works in offline mode, but the search results are limited to only those fields that have been configured to be available in offline searches.
The following table shows what you can and can't do when working offline.
Action | Restrictions when offline |
---|---|
View the details of a record | Up to the number configured for your company, for example, 100 records. |
Add a record | Up to the number configured for your company, for example, 5 records. The counter for this number is reset at 12:00 midnight. |
Edit the details record (Android only) | Up to the number configured for your company, say, for example, 5 records. The counter for this number is reset at 12:00 midnight, and includes the number of records you added. |
Update the state of a record | Only if the facility is configured for your company. |
Delete an unsynced item | No. |
The pending unsynced items are uploaded automatically as soon as your device is online. If the automatic sync isn't successful, you're notified by an in-app message. You can wait for the app to try again, or you can manually start the upload process yourself, but when you exceed a specified number of attempts, you can no longer do a manual sync. This happens when the sync request fails at the server because of validation errors.
