Steps to Create a Dropdown Field

Accessing Field Configuration

  1. Log in to the Vymo web app.
  2. Click on the gear icon in the upper-right corner.
  3. Navigate to "Module Settings".
  4. Select the module where you want to add the dropdown field and proceed to "Field Configuration".

Note: Dropdown fields can also be created under "User Management" in "Field Configuration".

Adding a Dropdown Field

  1. Click on "Add New" at the top left.
  2. Drag the "Dropdown" field type to the right section.
  3. Fill in the necessary details for the new dropdown field.
  4. Click "Save" at the top right to confirm your configurations.

Configuring Dependencies for Dropdown Fields

Dropdown fields can be enhanced by adding dependencies, which allow for more interactive and dynamic forms.

Accessing the Dropdown Configuration

  1. Access the "Field Configuration" screen for your desired module.
  2. Choose to either create a new dropdown field or edit an existing one.

Setting up Dependencies

  1. In the dropdown configuration, check the "Mandatory" box if needed.
  2. Select the appropriate dependent fields for each dropdown option from the list.
  3. If a chosen dependent field already exists as a standalone field in the main form, it will be relocated under the dropdown as a dependency.

Finalizing Dependency Configurations

  1. Review your changes to ensure that dependencies are correctly set.
  2. Click "Save" at the top right to apply your configurations.

Note: Dependencies should be intuitive and add value to the user experience. Ensure that the use of the "Mandatory" checkbox and dependencies is clear and justified.

By following these steps, you can effectively create and manage dropdown fields in Vymo, enhancing the data collection and user interaction within the platform.
