Working Offline in Vymo

Vymo ensures continuous productivity even when your device experiences poor connectivity by providing robust offline capabilities.

Offline Data Handling

  • Data Storage: When offline, any edits or updates you make to records are stored locally on your device as pending, un-synced items.
  • Sync Indicator: The number of un-synced items is prominently displayed at the top of the Vymo app, ensuring you are aware of the data pending synchronization.
  • Encryption: All offline data is encrypted, enhancing security and protecting sensitive information.
  • Data Clearance on Logout: Logging out of the app automatically erases all offline data stored on your device.

Reconnecting

  • Data Sync: Once connectivity is restored, the app automatically uploads the stored offline data to the servers.
  • Post-Login Download: After logging back into the app, data is downloaded and stored in the app, allowing you to resume your activities seamlessly.

Offline Search Functionality

  • Limited Search Capability: The search function remains available even in offline mode, but the results are limited to only those fields configured for offline access.

This offline functionality ensures that you can continue to work without interruption, safeguarding data integrity and security while providing access to critical functions even without an internet connection.

The following table shows what you can and can't do when working offline.

The pending unsynced items are uploaded automatically as soon as your device is online. If the automatic sync isn't successful, you're notified by an in-app message. You can wait for the app to try again, or you can manually start the upload process yourself, but when you exceed a specified number of attempts, you can no longer do a manual sync. This happens when the sync request fails at the server because of validation errors.
