Sending group notifications without a call to action

Group notifications enable the sending of diverse messages to distinct groups. The procedure requires uploading a .xls or .xlsx file detailing messages and recipient IDs. Each file can hold up to 399 messages. For larger groups, divide them into batches of 399.

Bulk notifications with CTAs are internally available but not yet customer-accessible.

Upon file upload, notifications are dispatched immediately, without scheduling

A few things to keep in mind before you upload a file:

  • Retrieve User IDs from Settings > Users.

Steps

  1. Log in to the Vymo web app.
  2. Get the upload template (Settings > Users > Bulk Notification > Download Template) and save the file on your computer.notifications upload template
  3. Load the file with data. Make sure of the following things:
    • The User ID column is not empty. It's a required column, and upload fails if this column is left blank. If a more than one message must be sent to a person, create separate rows for each message text with with the same user ID.
    • The title does not exceed 50 characters.
    • The description, which is the message text, does not exceed 500 characters.
    • The sheet name is not changed.
  4. Return to the web app and click Settings > Users > Bulk Notification again.
  5. Select the type of notification. This information is used only for internal analysis, and is not visible to customers.
  6. Click Select File, select the file you created, and click Submit.
  7. Wait for the file to be uploaded. When the process in over, you're shown the upload status.

If the upload process encounters an error, you get an error report that you can use to locate the error and fix it.
